Concerning this track Philomena once opined that, "It would be better without the oboe melody. Still a great piece though." As an afterthought she added, "I guess a lot of the music by those guys in wigs would be better without the melodies on top. The best parts are usually the strings swimming around underneath." Her favourite ingredient in this Tomaso Albinoni composition is, unsurprisingly, the carefully swelling, melancholic string-section that opens it.
